Photography and Videography

Shoots produced in house, from product stills to full brand films. The shot list is built backwards from where the assets will run, so a day on site fills a quarter of calendar rather than a folder.

Commercial photography production

What it is, and why it matters

Most shoots produce a folder of good images that nobody can use. The crops are wrong for the platform, there is no vertical footage, nobody captured the detail the product page needed, and three months later the same brands are back to stock photography.

That is a planning problem, not a camera problem. If you know the assets have to fill a website, a month of social, two ad campaigns and a sales deck, the shot list looks completely different, and so does how the day is scheduled.

So we plan backwards from the channels. Vertical and horizontal captured together, the unglamorous detail shots that product pages need, and enough b roll that the next three edits do not require another shoot.

Who this is for

A good fit if

  • There is something real to show: product, premises, people or work in progress
  • You know roughly where the assets will run
  • You can free up the space and the people for the agreed window
  • You want a library to draw on rather than a single campaign image

Probably not if

  • Nobody can be photographed and nothing can be moved on the day
  • The brief is one image with no idea where it goes
  • You need a full production with talent, permits and a location build, which we would partner on
  • The shoot has to happen tomorrow

A planned day, scheduled around light and access rather than around a running order invented that morning.

Your first 90 days

  1. Week 1

    Plan the day backwards

We start from where the assets will run and work back to a shot list. That decides the schedule, the aspect ratios captured, and which detail shots cannot be missed because a page depends on them.

  2. Week 2

    Shoot

We work to the schedule, capturing vertical and horizontal together rather than reframing later. Someone from your side should be on site for the first hour to approve the look before the day commits to it.

  3. Week 3

    Select, then finish

You get the selects first, before any retouching, so the choosing happens on the shots themselves. Then colour, retouching and the edits in the formats agreed in the shot list.

  4. Ongoing

    Keep the library working

Assets are handed over organised by use rather than by camera filename, so the next person to need a banner image can find one without asking. Re shoots are planned quarterly if the calendar needs feeding.

What you actually receive

The shot list goes out before the shoot and doubles as the delivery checklist. Every shot has a destination written next to it, which is what stops a day drifting toward whatever looks nice.

Assets are delivered in folders named by where they go, not by date. Web, social vertical, social square, print and raw.

Social media content production and shot planning
  1. Every shot, with the page or post it exists for
  2. Aspect ratios captured for each subject
  3. What needs a person, and in which window
  4. Delivery formats and the date each is due

Where this usually goes wrong

  • The usual mistake: Shooting everything horizontally, then cropping for vertical and losing half the frame.

What we do instead: Capture both on the day. It costs minutes and saves the entire social calendar.

  • The usual mistake: Booking a shoot with no shot list and choosing subjects as the day goes.

What we do instead: Plan backwards from the channels. The day runs shorter and delivers more.

  • The usual mistake: Delivering four hundred images with camera filenames and no structure.

What we do instead: Organise by where each asset goes. An unfindable library is the same as no library.

  • The usual mistake: Re shooting every campaign because the last shoot only covered one.

What we do instead: Capture enough b roll and detail that the next two campaigns can be cut from it.

Questions we get asked

How do we get started?

Book a free consultation. We look at where things stand today, agree what to fix first, and send a written scope before any work begins.

How is the cost decided?

Every engagement is scoped to your goals, the size of the work and your timeline. You get a written proposal after the consultation, so the cost is clear before anything starts.

How will we know it is working?

We agree the measures at the start, then report against them in plain language, with the numbers shown so you can check them yourself.

Who will we work with?

A named lead who knows your account, backed by the specialists the work needs. You always know who to message.

Do you work in Arabic as well as English?

Yes. Content, campaigns and reporting can run in Arabic, in English, or in both, depending on who your customers are.

Can you work alongside our own team?

Yes. We can take on the whole service or fill the gaps around your in house team, and hand over cleanly if that ever changes.

What do you need from us?

Access to the accounts involved, one person who can approve work, and an honest picture of what has been tried before.
